Tracy's Hens Day

A beautiful February Saturday and we headed off on a tour of the Gold Coast hinterland wineries for Tracy's hen's day. Our driver, Chris, made sure we kept on schedule as we drank our way around Mount Tamborine, Cedar Creek and Mount Cotton. We sampled many different varieties of wine, and may have even learnt a thing or two. We finished the day at Sirromet where we chilled out at the cellar door with some live music, good food and, of course, a great drop of wine. As I will be in London for their wedding next Sunday - Congraulations Tracy & Adrian.

Mount Cootha

Matt took me on a lovely surprise dinner.... Mount Cootha! Having never eaten at the Summit Restaurant it was a great idea - and a beautiful night. Although we had to wait a bit longer than normal for our food, the fantastic views were definitely compensation.

Australia Day!

After a very early awakening (thanks Dad) we headed down to the Maroochy River to test out the new kayak, and for a spot of fishing. It was perfect kayaking weather and we took turns in paddle expeditions. Matt and I paddled right around Chambers Island, while Meg decided to hitch a ride.

After a hearty cooked breakfast, it was time to test out the roof top pool.

Finally, after a long day of kayaking, fishing, swimming and BBQing (sorry about the shorts Pat... we won't mention it to Megan) a beautiful sunset to end with.

Moonlight Cinema

Tim and Jody, Nat and Sean and Matt and I decided to check out the Moonlight Cinema at the Powerhouse right on the edge of New Farm Park. An outdoor cinema set up only during summer months, and with a variety of movies, it seemed like a good idea! We all packed a picnic and had drinks and nibbles before a screening of Charlottes Web. It was a great night out!

ODI: Australia Vs England

Another day at the Gabba for the One Day International with Nat. The Aussies got off to a great start with some superb fielding, and before we knew it England were all out for 155. The Aussies then went in to bat and took their sweet time in reaching the total... it was like watching paint dry! I did manage to work on my tan though!

Dan leaves for Kuala Lumper

A few Friday night drinks at the Press Club to wish Dan well on his transfer to Kuala Lumper. As a side benefit, we actually discovered the most fabulous cocktails I have ever had in Brisbane.... my favourite was the Russian Royale (pictured with Gemma below). And then I found out why they are the best cocktails.... I was reading Madison on the weekend and saw our bartender, Dean, is actually in a competition to be named Australia's best cocktail bartender!!

Perth

I headed over to Perth for work to assist Rob and Derek in recruiting a Regional Ground Operations Manager. It was a long way to go for 2 days (especially with no inflight entertainment on Virgin!) but worth it to check out the west. Rob lived in Perth recently, so he took us on a quick guided tour of the city.

We then enjoyed a great night out and sampled some of the fantastic Margaret River wines with our ground handler Aerocare at the Old Swan Brewery.

Jenna Daisy McLeod

A lovely Saturday in Sydney morning and I met Gavin and Raylee for a coffee to meet the new addition to the family - Jenna Daisy McLeod. She is an absolute cutie and her Dad does a great job of fussing over her. Look out Australia's Next Top Model...

New Years Eve

The last day of the year – doesn’t time just fly by! We decided to celebrate in the New Year at the Shadow Lounge with some of Matt’s friends. Great view, great cocktails and great company to start 2007. As you can see, we also had a great view of the fireworks, although it was nothing in comparison to London! Happy New Year to all!

Southbank

Matt and I took a late night walk to check out Southbank. Preparation was already underway for the fireworks tomorrow night.
